Suspicious Minds

Suspicious MindsI’m 52,000 words in to On the Wings of Grace, Book 4 in the Beyond the Blue Horizon series, and Otto, Mata, Tom, Polly and the twins are taking a B-17 on a nostalgia tour of the U.S.  to celebrate the Air Force’s tenth anniversary. Betty has stayed home, and let’s just say that Otto and Mata have suspicions about her relationship with a member of Otto’s World War II crew. I read this part to someone, and he said it sounded like a soap opera. I had a literature prof that felt that soap operas were much like eighteenth century novels, with slow episodic development, multiple characters, and frequent “cliff hanger” episodes,  so sign me up! There’s more to come! When I reach 60,000 words, it’s downhill from there, and I should reach that in ten days. Stay tuned!

About huckfinn47

I taught high school English for 32 years, all at Robinson High School in Fairfax, VA. My students called me "Mr. V," and I was fortunate to have some terrific young people in my classes. I have made contact with some of them, particularly on Facebook, and enjoy seeing what they're up to. My other nickname, given to me by our then assistant pastor Jim Vaught, is Lieutenant Dan, after the Gary Sinise character in Forrest Gump, one of my favorite movies. I never got anywhere near military service, so the name is somewhat ironic. I greatly admire our troops and respect their sacrifices. On the Wings of Morning is my first novel worth talking about.
